Challenge

A small cottage set inside a working mango and citrus orchard. The site had to be protected throughout the build, and the finished house had to feel like it had always belonged there.

Approach

We set up access routes that avoided root zones, staged materials carefully to minimise tree loss, and used local stone and tile to weather the house quickly back into the orchard. Construction photography from week one to handover documents the slow disappearance of the building into its setting.

Outcome

A cottage that belongs to the trees around it, and a working demonstration of low-impact building in an established planting.
