Challenge
A family home in a leafy Karen plot, with a brief for warmth and presence on a relatively tight residential parcel surrounded by neighbours and mature trees.
Approach
We paired coursed yellow stone with crisp white render bands to break the massing of the two-storey form. A small detached unit sits alongside the main house, keeping service uses out of the main footprint and respecting the scale of the surrounding plots.

Outcome
A confident suburban family home that sits comfortably between its neighbours rather than competing with them.
House Kiiro is one of the early HKM works in Nairobi suburbia. The discipline learned on rural sites translated cleanly to a denser context.
